Package illustration draft for skin care products.

Challenge

A design studio had to rebrand a product series for a brand rooted in Ayuverda heritage.

Each product was inspired by a spirit animal, each animal representing a product line. For the new design they wanted fine art Illustrations that had a traditional feel, are detailed and textured but also with a contemporary edge. 

Solution

For the draft I chose to focus on the water themed product. Its focus was an octopus.

I researched images of underwater treasures and creatures, also other fine art in the style the client wanted. Based on my moodboard I started drawing each element by itself with graphit on paper for the traditional feel. Later scanning the drawings and finally retouching and arranging them digitally with photoshop.
